How much discharge is normal?? (possible tmi)? - is a lot of mucous normal right before your expected period

Ok, so I am 39 weeks pregnant with # 3, but I've always driven before them with my other two, that this is all new territory for me. I'm pretty sure I lost my mucus plug, but my question is, what is normal? All day yesterday and so far this morning, I got big balls yellowish / slime / red-brown when I wipe too. I call my doctor's office, but it will take some time to get back to what I thought it would be some comments here. What was your plug-in, if you lost? Was it just a little here and there, or was very similar to what I mean by that? Any advice / input would be great! Thank you!
